The Greek Chemists Association (GCA) is a legal entity governed by public law in order to promote the science of chemistry in industry, technology, education, research and control. For each section in which it operates, there is also the relevant scientific division, one of which is the Paints-Varnishes-Inks Division (PVID).
The PVID was founded in 1979, when in Greece the respective sector grew rapidly and there was a great need to create specialized scientific potential that would give solutions to both professional and scientific issues, in a climate of cooperation and solidarity among its members.
The Scientific Division is attended by both GCA members and University graduates who are interested in the section and its aims. It has a five-member Board which is renewed every three years.
