Dr. Constantinos Charitidis
Dr. Constantinos Charitidis is Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens (Head of the “Research Unit of Advanced, Composite, Nano Materials & Nanotechnology”, R-NanoLab). He has extensive R&D experience both as coordinator and partner in European and National funded projects.
His research topics include:
- Materials Science & Nanotechnology, Nanomaterials Processing, Carbon-based materials, Microstructure – Property Relationship, Multifunctional Materials, Thin Film Technology (PVD, CVD)
- Structural and Nanomechanical Properties of bulk-thin film-multifunctional materials, Tribology, Contact Mechanics, Adhesion, Fracture and Fatigue of Engineering Materials,
- Social & Safety impacts of Nanotechnology and corresponding Risk Assessment, Sustainability Studies in Nanotechnology, Nanosafety: Regulatory Issues on Nanomaterials.
He is a referee in 80 International Scientific Journals, served as Expert, Reviewer, Chair, Vice-Chair and Independent Observer for evaluation of European FP5, FP6, FP7 and H2020 research proposals. Official External Reviewer of internal project and Project Technical Advisor of the European Commission (2010-current). His research activity is complemented with 130 papers in ISI Journals, more than 140 contributions to conference proceedings and workshops, a large number of lectures as an invited speaker and about 2200 citations by other researchers (h-index 31). He is editor of 3 books and author or co-author in 13 book chapters.
